Keeping poker chips Simple right ?

Well i played poker with a guy the other night and his comment to me was he does not like to quit the game of poker till the game breaks or he has all the chips on the table. What a bold statement i said and due to the way he was playing i saw why. He got under players skin and got them to push with bad hands. The reason he talked them into calling and of course he had monster like i did a swell. the flop was king 5 8 rainbow i bet get called 3 players. The turn was a king i bet another player calls and the player under the skin goes all in. What should i do i have king queen so i call. Well the player has

pocket 5s and of course i lose. I learned something that night. The player talked me into calling and of course i am not folding three of a kind on a blank board. The think i learned from this player after i bought back in was to watch him play and see what he was doing. This point he had 1900 chips in a 1 2 dollar game sick huh so i say why don't you leave you have all the chips the next closest player has 500. his response was i am not happy till game over or i have all the chips on table. Then he proceeded to tell me more. He said that if he is going to play well in tournaments or cash game he needs to learn to hold onto the big stack so he can make big cash or tournament win. This seemed easy i told him you really do not have to get into any hands and that night he was flopping monsters. The player assured me that it is tougher than it looks because hes the big stack and everyone wants a piece of his chips. I said well that is great in tournament play but in cash they can just re buy and take chances. He said well if they take chances i know where i stand and have to know how to play that specific hand in essence he was telling me you have to read players well and not just think they are making a stand against your big stack. You have to play the game the longevity. This i applaud the player because for 8 hours he walked out with over 2k which is a accomplish by itself. The biggest stack after his 1900 was 500 so everyone wanted his chips. The chip envy push with draws came out and the players just started playing crazy. A real good game to play. Well i sat back waited for hands i finally got one. It was the big stack another player and myself and one more to act after him. The first player pushes into a 80 pot the flop 10 4 2 with 2 spades and heart. I have king 9 spades. What should i do well i am short stacked so i call his all in for 230 which leaves me 70 dollars left. The other players fold. The player who pushed had 5 3 spades so i say great i am in the lead he says lets go twice so i agree. The first on hit 5 on turn blank on river. The next 3 on turn blank on river i lose wow. Well it was a good night watching and learning and 300 is not a bad investment for this story. So what i tell you poker players is try to play till all the chips are off the table or game ends one night just to see if you have the guts to hold the big stack. The reason is so you can make your poker skills last longer.
