You might already know what this is but if you do not here is a simple lesson on board texture. When playing this game some times you have hand like pocket aces of pocket kings and the flop always comes low cards like 456 or you have kings and an ace hits the flop. Well what is this just madness or can you say to yourself there is no way someone called my raise pre flop with 7 8 off suit. Maybe call my raise with ace 4 off suit. Well we hate to tell you and you have seen it enough times that yes they will. There was a hand in poker i witnessed the other day and had a chance to talk to the player about it. So first ill call the guy Justin to used different names. The player in a 1 2 blind game with about 100 in chips raise pre flop with pocket aces 12 dollars. He had 3 callers the flop you guessed it was 456 all off suit. The player With aces well call him Justin makes it 15. The next player after him a very mathematical player asks him well how much you have left and Justin
only have about 75 dollars left. The player after the mathematical player pushes all in and this player was the small blind. So the board texture told Justin what to do and that was fold all he had was aces. Now the argument was well the math player asks how many chips and another player pushes what show he do. The player actually pushed 0 all in for Justin to call. That would only leave him 25 left so he folded. Great play with that board texture. U have a raise from you and another player raises all in in front of you. Now what hand could these guys have well the skies the limits with the small blind and the math player you have to think would have like 8s or 7s for sure to get good value. Well the small blind had 65 so flopped two pair Justin had aces and the other math player had 8s. How did the hand play out the turn was a 4 so aces and 4s would have won but the nasty river was a 7 so 8s win the whole pot. The thing is the board texture told Justin to fold and it was a great lay down because lets face it how many of you can lay down aces on the flop with 3 low cards ???? Do not kid yourself either be honest. Now lets look at another hand like pocket aces and the board is king 8 3 you raised pre flop the flop came out and now someone pushes all in what do you do. Well of course you call the obvious top pair or bluff pre pre and you have them drawing to two pair like king queen. Well here are a couple chances to save some chips on the board texture rule.
may you have big pots,
