There is a time in your poker career that you have to learn from your mistakes. There is a time when you have to go back the the start of your poker game. There are many ways to win at poker. There are many styles to play. You should have a creative style that fits your poker ability. The one that fits my game the most is aggressive play. The downfall to my play is that players play aggressive against me and i am lost to what they are playing. The other day i learned i also play
scared money when i am behind. These mistakes i look at and understand i need to work on these things or else i will never win constantly in poker. I will give one example of a hand where i played scared money. I have king clubs queen diamonds i am playing a 2 5 game with lots of action and also big betters. I am big blind guy under the gun makes it 50 there are 5 callers i have about 300 in front of me. I call of course with good odds. The flop comes queen 9 3 all spades. I am first to act i check. The next player bets 50 again and then there are folds and a player makes it 200 to play. So now i say i am scared. The player to my left folds out of turn not seeing my hand so it is me and the other player heads up. The player shows me the 4 of spades. So i now know i am up against at worst a flush draw. I don not think the player is betting 200 with the nut flush of course and also i don not think the player has queen 4. I have a good hand with top pair but this player just made it 200 into the pot. So i decide that he has to have a little flush like 8 4 or 6 4 some suited connected cards. I then also think that maybe he has a pair and a flush draw like pocket 4s. Well like i said i fold to save the money like a little idiot. He then shows 9 4 with four of spades he showed me. The turn queen the river blank no flush for him i lose. The thing that i am mad at my play and learn from my mistakes is that at the start of my poker career i would have called because i played fearless. Now i look at the whole picture and the fact of what the player could have. My advice from now on is play your game do not change the way just win at the style that best suites you. By the way nice hand Maroon.
may you have big pots,
